LG Broadens Its Platform Portfolio with the Launch of webOS Hub 2.0S

LG Electronics (LG) has announced the expansion of its new webOS Hub 2.0S, initially released for TVs in September, to include smart monitors. This move comes in response to the growing smart TV market and the increasing number of single-person households. While smart TVs traditionally target family households, the surge in single-person living arrangements has created a demand for smart monitors. The webOS Hub 2.0S, offering both convenience and a diverse range of content, is now positioned as an excellent choice for smaller screens.

The enhanced webOS Hub 2.0S boasts increased hardware adaptability, extending its compatibility beyond smart TVs. This expansion provides third-party brands with more options to deliver a customizable user experience.

A notable addition to the main home UI screen of the webOS Hub 2.0S is the Card App Home Hub & Music, streamlining access to various services with a single remote click. The smart home ecosystem dashboard featured on this platform allows users to personalize control capabilities, including monitoring device status for both TVs and IoT-based devices.

Catering to a broad spectrum of user needs, the webOS Hub 2.0S offers comprehensive services with diverse features. Users can effortlessly access music from popular apps like Spotify or music stored in USB drives through the Card App Music feature. Innovative functions such as Remote PC facilitate easy access to content for hybrid work scenarios, ensuring a seamless transition between home and office devices. The platform supports convenient video calling and conferencing, with USB camera* compatibility, and enhances home fitness experiences. Additionally, for students and working professionals, webOS 2.0S enables access to streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube. The platform’s compatibility with Apple Home and AirPlay* allows users to securely control smart home accessories and effortlessly stream content from Apple devices.

With over 300 brands participating in integrating the webOS Hub into various third-party products, LG has strengthened its market presence over the past three years. Building on this success, the company is extending the webOS Hub platform to a broader range of smart TVs and smart monitors, reinforcing its position in the industry and committing to providing a seamless webOS Hub experience across multiple devices.
