Samsung and Maison Margiela Join Forces for Exclusive Galaxy Z Flip5 Collaboration

Samsung Electronics and Maison Margiela, the renowned Parisian Haute Couture house, have announced their second collaboration to produce a special edition of the Galaxy Z Flip5. This partnership expands on their innovative collaboration, combining the distinctive brand identities of Samsung Galaxy and Maison Margiela to create a device for individuals seeking freshness and unconventionality.
Stephanie Choi, EVP & Head of Marketing of Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the collaboration’s aim to break conventions and norms, supporting those who value individuality. Choi stated, “This second collaboration between the two brands brings together fashion and technology by approaching a high-tech device in a way similar to the construction of an haute couture garment. Through this collaboration, we want consumers to discover their own identity and express it without limitation.”

Samsung has redefined foldable smartphones, showcasing its innovative heritage in progressive technology, while Maison Margiela continues to surprise the fashion industry with its deconstructive yet sophisticated design. This collaboration aligns with their similar mindset, combining original design with the latest foldable technology.
The Galaxy Z Flip5 Maison Margiela Edition features a rear glass design that boldly reveals the inner workings of a Maison Margiela jacket. Enhanced by silver and metallic effects, exclusive to this special edition, the design employs a signature technique of the fashion house. The semi-transparent effect unveils the hidden structure and details of the garment, capturing the essence beyond visual appeal.
The Flap Leather Case showcases the atelier’s craftsmanship with natural black leather, woven fabric, and genuine fabric logo labels. The handwoven stitching on the cover’s back epitomizes Maison Margiela’s ‘Work-in-Progress’ design identity. Opening the device reveals the pocket pattern, adding a delightful touch, while closing it conceals the pattern.
The Flipsuit Case embodies the brand’s pursuit of uniqueness and creativity. It includes two Flipsuit Cards adorned with a paint splatter design and a silver plate, displaying Maison Margiela’s distinctive numbering design. When attached to the Z Flip5, the device adopts an entirely new theme, displaying details inspired by Maison Margiela’s delicate Artisanal collection.
Not only the device but also the packaging reflects Maison Margiela’s unfinished style, featuring a distinct stitching pattern in the center of the flap. The paper-based woven book cloth fabric covering the package’s exterior seamlessly blends the device with Maison Margiela’s atelier, creating a unique and artistic presentation.
