The Air Jordan XI Retro “Gratitude” Enlists LA Bike Life Crew to hand out AJ XI pairs to the community

The enduring legacy of the Jordan Brand owes much of its success to a dedicated community of fans who have been fervent supporters from the very beginning. These original enthusiasts, often referred to as the OG’s, have played a pivotal role in shaping the brand’s influence across footwear, basketball, and popular culture since the inception of the inaugural Air Jordan shoe. In a heartfelt gesture of appreciation for the unwavering support spanning decades, the heritage sneaker brand introduces the AJ XI Retro “Gratitude” – a timeless silhouette enriched with icy accents.

Drawing inspiration from the original DMP colorway, the upgraded silhouette proudly showcases welded gold Jumpman emblems on the heel, adding a touch of opulence. Enhancing the initial design, the shoe boasts a satin lining on the collar and high-cut patent leather on the mudguard, delivering a refined and premium feel. Beyond the aesthetics, the message of gratitude extends to the local community, as evidenced by the LA Bike Life Crew and their collaboration with dirt bike prodigy EJ. Together, they took to the streets to express their appreciation for the individuals and locales that have played a transformative role in their lives.

Chosen by Jordan Brand partner Union Los Angeles, recipients of the AJ XI Gratitude are individuals who have left a positive impact on their communities and beyond, thanks to their creative and generous visions. Among the notable recipients is Aleali May, a figure who served as a mentor to EJ, inspiring him to secure his first job and strive for his aspirations. In a poignant moment, EJ expressed his gratitude to May, acknowledging her as the catalyst for his journey towards greater heights: “You were the first person to inspire me to really go far,” he shared with May.
