Adobe Next-Gen AI Photo Editing Engine is fantasTIC

For those people who have been making use of Generative Fill since Adobe rolled out the impressive AI-powered editing tool will be excited to learn that the company has more up its sleeve. Adobe has teased “Project Stardust,” not merely one tool but a full-on AI engine built for editing across its software programs.

Adobe demonstrates how the “object-aware editing engine” can pick out individual objects within photographs, allowing the user to move the objects around and rearrange them in the teaser video.

While Adobe Photoshop already has a similar feature – the lasso tool – the engine offers an easier, more streamlined approach with more power to reconfigure a given object. For instance, the video shows how users can delete objects entirely or move them to a different layer of the photo, manipulating the depth perception.

Adobe product manager Aya Philémon said that the engine will “revolutionize how we interact with Adobe products.”
