Converse has joined forces with Brooklyn-based jewelry and accessories designer Martine Ali to unveil the Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge, marking a noteworthy fusion of style and functionality.
Martine Ali’s creative vision for the Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge is truly groundbreaking. The shoe showcases a dramatically sculpted, angular midsole that not only serves as a design statement but also adds an impressive four inches (10cm) of height. This bold reinterpretation of the classic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette results in a shoe that makes a striking impression while maintaining a sense of refined sophistication.
Inspired by wading boots, an unexpected source, the design of the Converse x Martine Ali Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge boasts an asymmetrical square toe and a luxurious full grain leather upper. This seamlessly combines the timeless aesthetics of the original Chuck Taylor with a daring new perspective.
A standout feature of this collaboration is the dual expression of the shoe. Wearers have the option to wear the Chuck 70 De Luxe Wedge with or without gaiters. True to Martine Ali’s signature New York style, the gaiters are all black with stud closures, showcasing the designer’s affinity for metallic finishes. Crafted for both breathability and durability, the gaiters feature full-length zippers and waxed laces, providing a range of styling possibilities.
