Fate Takes a Turn: Jackpot and Black Cat Unveil Their Luckless Alliance in a Fresh Team-Up Series

By Kyra Greene

Felicia Hardy and Mary Jane Watson discover that their connection runs deeper than they realized, and this March, they will unite their intelligence, skills, and superpowers to confront a looming threat in the upcoming limited series, “JACKPOT AND BLACK CAT!”

Penned by Celeste Bronfman, the acclaimed author behind Mary Jane’s inaugural adventure as Jackpot in AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #925 and her solo debut hitting shelves in January, the four-issue series will feature the artistic talents of Marvel rising star Emilio Laiso, known for his recent contributions to GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and X-MEN UNLIMITED. Renowned artist Adam Hughes will provide the series’ covers.

Following their successful collaboration in Jed MacKay and C.F. Villa’s Eisner-nominated BLACK CAT & MARY JANE: BEYOND one-shot and the MARY JANE & BLACK CAT “Dark Web” tie-in series, Mary Jane and Felicia Hardy have emerged as one of Marvel’s most captivating partnerships. Now, with Mary Jane embracing her role as a burgeoning superhero, they will elevate their alliance in an exhilarating escapade to thwart a villain who is manipulating everyone, including Black Cat and Mary Jane. A riveting narrative unfolds as tough decisions and daring missions become inevitable, entangling the duo in a plot that has brought the world to its knees.

Luck favors the bold! When Black Cat is coerced into a public and audacious crime spree through blackmail, Jackpot steps in to assist. The pressing question arises: which classic Spider-Villain is orchestrating this blackmail, and what historical ties do they have with at least one of our titular heroines?

“MJ has embodied heroism from the beginning, and I’m thrilled to continue her evolution as Jackpot—this time alongside Felicia Hardy!” Bronfman exclaimed. “Opposites attract, and the intriguing dynamics of their friendship, marked by clashes during heists, betrayals, and unexpected twists, will undoubtedly captivate readers!”
