Gatorade has announced its official sports drink partnership with Wrexham Association Football Club, backing both the Men’s and Women’s teams. This collaboration comes on the heels of the club’s recent promotion to League One, marking their second consecutive advancement, and sets the stage for Gatorade to provide support with its science-driven products and innovations as Wrexham aims for the Premier League.

Fans can expect to see Gatorade, a global leader in sports fuel, prominently featured on the sidelines of all Wrexham AFC games. Additionally, Gatorade products will be integrated into FX’s “Welcome to Wrexham” show, which premieres Thursday, May 2, 2024.

“We are incredibly pleased to welcome Gatorade as an official partner of Wrexham Association Football Club. Our decision to switch to Gatorade from Aviation Gin in those water bottles was a wise move. We look forward to continuing our successful partnership with Gatorade,” said club co-chairmen Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds.

Gatorade, known as the world’s most researched sports drink, offers a range of hydration options to fuel Wrexham AFC’s athletes from training sessions to game days and post-victory celebrations. Players will also benefit from access to resources provided by the Gatorade Sports Science Institute (GSSI), which is dedicated to optimizing athletes’ health and performance through research, innovation, education, and service in hydration and nutrition science.

Looking ahead, Wrexham players will participate in sweat testing with GSSI, analyzing sweat patterns to develop personalized fuel plans for effective hydration strategies. The partnership will also involve the creation of co-branded merchandise such as exclusive Wrexham Gx bottles and towels.

“We are thrilled to partner with Wrexham AFC, a club that has captured the attention of global soccer and pop culture fans alike,” said Michael Del Pozzo, President, and General Manager of Gatorade. “This collaboration is a first of its kind for Gatorade, leveraging the dynamic intersection of sports and entertainment to engage new audiences worldwide.”

The announcement precedes the club’s upcoming tour of the United States this summer, where both Gatorade-supported teams will compete against top football clubs and players. The 2024 Wrex Coast Tour dates will be announced soon, featuring three friendly matches for the Men’s club and the inaugural U.S. visit for the Women’s club.
