Robert A. James Assumes Role of Chief Diversity and Strategic Growth Officer at CGT Staffing

CompuGroup Technologies, LLC (dba CGT Staffing) is pleased to announce the appointment of Robert A. James, JD, MBA, MHA, as Chief Diversity and Strategic Growth Officer. Bringing extensive experience in business, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), as well as a legal background, James will play a pivotal role in expanding CGT Staffing’s national reach and promoting the company’s dedication to diversity, inclusion, and cultural competency both internally and in collaboration with its clients.

Bill Welge, President and CEO of CGT Staffing, expressed enthusiasm about James’s leadership, emphasizing the company’s commitment to fostering diversity. He stated, “With Robert’s guidance, we will deliver a forward-thinking model for entrepreneurial inclusionary practices, identifying exemplary candidates for our clients. Diversity is the most critical component of any workforce, encouraging dialogue, creativity, and collaboration.”

In his new position, James will oversee the development of a progressive model for inclusive practices, aiming to identify outstanding candidates for CGT Staffing’s clients. The company is dedicated to assisting its partners in building diverse and inclusive teams, fostering tangible and measurable changes for the organizations and the communities they serve.

Under James’s direction, CGT Staffing will also enhance and broaden the outreach of its sister organization, CGT Vets, a Service-Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (SDVBE) that prioritizes military veterans in its job search initiatives. This comprehensive approach to diversity ensures that both organizations can provide clients with a diverse and skilled cross-section of the national talent pool, encompassing both hard and soft skills acquired through previous work, training, and practical experience.

Before joining CGT Staffing, James served as the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Corporate Strategies at Allegheny Health Network/Highmark Health, a $26 billion national health organization. His achievements include being inducted into the Hall of Fame for the MDWBE Governmental Committee in 2023 and completing his term on the Executive Committee of Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf’s Advisory Council for Diversity, Inclusion, and Small Business Opportunities.

Mr. James holds a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University Law Center, a Master of Business Administration, and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a Bachelor of Arts from Boston College. Additionally, he has completed a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion program certificate from Northwestern University.
